$280 Million At Stake In Michigan Powerball Jackpot

DETROIT (WWJ) - Did you get your ticket?

Wednesday's $280 million jackpot has residents around metro Detroit anxious for a once in a lifetime opportunity to live lifestyles of the rich and famous.

Dearborn waitress Kathy Smith said that she would use the winnings to make peace within her family.

"I would pay off all my relatives so they wouldn't bother me," Smith told WWJ's Ron Dewey. "They say pay your relatives off whether you owe them or not. That would get them out of my face."

Smith said she would use the rest of her winnings on a Winnebago to see the rest of the country, leaving enough time for work to be done on a new Kentucky home.

Russ Lockley says that he will be in line today to purchase a ticket, but admits he wouldn't know where to start if he won.

"It's too much money to fathom what to do if you won," he said. "I would probably have to give a lot away just to get a grasp on how much it was."

Wednesday's drawing will take place at 11 p.m. Tune to WWJ-950 to hear the winning numbers.
