DTE Works To Restore Power To Almost 30K In Redford Township

REDFORD TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Thousands in Redford Township are in the dark Sunday but DTE says slowly but surely the lights will come back on.

As many as 30,000 customers were affected by a power outage following equipment damage at the Evergreen substation in the area.  DTE  crews are on site working to fix the affected 11 substations in the area.

DTE says the remaining 4,500 residents should be restored by midnight.

While in Hazel Park and Warren - the lights are just starting to come back on following an equipment failure at a substation in that area.

DTE says the two outages are unrelated.
