150,000 In Metro Detroit Lose Power Due To Strong Storms

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Around 150,000 metro Detroit residents are in the dark on Saturday.

DTE Energy says heavy wind gusts  up to 40-mile-per-hour and rainfall throughout the night caused trees and tree limbs to knock out power.

The outages are scattered. 1,500 are without power in the Ann Arbor area alone. Crews are working to restore the down lines and remove debris by sometime Saturday afternoon.

DTE Energy says 50,000 people are out in Wayne County, 25,000 in Oakland County and 6,000 in Macomb county remain without power.
