$2,500 Reward For Tips In Case Of Man Killed In Front Of His Kids At Detroit Gas Station
DETROIT (CBS Detroit) - A cash reward of up to $2,500 is now being offered for tips in the case of a 23-year-old man who was gunned down in front of two of his children at a gas station in Detroit.
Nearly eight months after his murder, police still have no suspects and few clues surrounding the death of Andre Johnson at the BP at the intersection of E. Vernor and Mt. Elliot St. on the city's east side.
Police said, after Johnson's girlfriend went inside to pay for gas an oil, an unknown man approached Johnson's van from the passenger's side, reached inside and fired several shots, killing him.
Police released a security camera image (above) that they believe shows the killer, but he was never identified.
Andre, who enjoyed playing baseball and basketball, attended the Tri-County Educational Center in Berkley and then worked a series of temp jobs through an agency while looking for steady work. He was his mother's only child, and had three daughters: Autumn, now 3 years old, 2-year-old Amiyah and 1-year-old Aubrey.
