2014 Detroit Tigers Winter Caravan Ready To Roll January 23-24

DETROIT (WWJ) - It might be the middle of winter, but it's never too early to start thinking about baseball.

The Detroit Tigers are ready to embark on their annual Winter Caravan, a trip around the state featuring an exciting lineup of appearances, set to depart Thursday, Jan. 23.

Coaches, players, broadcasters and Detroit's favorite mascot PAWS will take part in a two-day journey traveling in two buses and an additional dozen vehicles, spreading baseball fever to fans of all ages across the region. Tigers spokesperson Elaine Lewis said the caravan will roll through parts of Michigan, as well as Northwest Ohio and into Canada.

"We have added new stops and we are revisiting destinations with electric atmospheres that our players, manager and coaching staff are certain to enjoy. We are excited to warm up these cold winter months with the excitement that only a new baseball season can bring," Lewis said in a statement.

The 2014 Detroit Tigers Winter Caravan will be making stops at nearly 30 locations, including 12 new destinations.
