20 Horses, 1 Dog Die In Southwest Michigan Barn Fire

ONTWA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A fire that rushed through a barn in southwestern Michigan has killed at least 20 horses and a show dog.

WSBT-TV  in South Bend, Indiana, says the fire was reported about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Smithfield Stables. It's in Cass County's Ontwa Township, about 10 miles northeast of South Bend.

The station says that 15 fire departments responded to calls for help.

There are no reports of injuries to people and the cause of the fire wasn't immediately reported.
