2 Suspended Oakland County Deputies Arraigned After Drunk Driving Incident

PONTIAC (WWJ) -- Two suspended Oakland County Sheriffs deputies have been arraigned after a drunk driving accident left one woman injured.

Drew Sackner, 29, and David Weaver III, 25, appeared before a judge in 50th District Court in Pontiac on Thursday, facing charges that included operating a vehicle with a high blood alcohol content, possession of a firearm under the influence and more.

Investigators say the deputies rear-ended a 70-year-old female in Pontiac on March 18. It was determined both off-duty deputies had been drinking at the time of the crash.

Both were immediately suspended and the Sheriff's Office has begun termination proceedings.

"This is completely unacceptable on more levels than I can list," Sheriff Mike Bouchard said. "Law enforcement is held to a higher standard. They have violated the public's trust and will be held accountable for their inexcusable actions."
