2 Suspects Arrested In Ray Township Attempted Break-In

RAY TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Two men are in custody in Macomb County, suspects in an attempted home invasion.

Sheriff Anthony Wickersham tells WWJ  a homeowner living on 29 Mile Road in Ray Township was alerted when his home burglar alarm sent him a signal and returned home on Wednesday. Once at home the owner found a man sitting in a car in his driveway and another man walking from behind his home.

The owner asked the men what they were doing there and the two men took off in their car.

It was quickly discovered that a screen had been damaged and a door frame at the rear of the home had been forced open with a prying tool.

David Diola, 31 of Harrison Township and Russell Hannan, 39 were picked up nearby the home and charged with attempted home invasion 2nd degree, a five-year felony.

Diola was given a $200,000 cash or surety only bond.

Hannan was given a $100,000 cash or surety bond.
