2 Parolees Charged In Weekend Robbery, Attempted Murder In Northern Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - Two Inkster men who were out on parole could end up spending the rest of their lives behind bars after being accused of attempted murder in Detroit.

Linton Richey, 33, and Pierre Wilson, 28, were arraigned Monday in 36th District Court on multiple charges, including armed robbery, assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, carrying a firearm with unlawful intent, and six counts of felony firearm. Wilson was also charged with fleeing and eluding a police officer.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred around 3:30 a.m. Saturday in the 20000 block of Yonka, in a neighborhood just south of 8 Mile Road along Ryan Road. Police responded to the scene and found a 23-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. A 25-year-old female who was also present told police that the two had just been robbed.

The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The woman was uninjured.

Richey and Wilson were taken into custody later that night after police spotted them driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Westland, according to WXYZ.

If convicted as charged, Richey and Wilson face life in prison.

According to the Michigan Department of Corrections, Ritchey was released on parole in May 2016 after serving 12 years of a maximum 15 year sentence for second-degree homicide. The MDOC had no records for Wilson.
