2 Officers, Elderly Woman Injured In Crash On Detroit's West Side

DETROIT (WWJ) - Two Detroit police officers and an 84-year old woman are recovering after being involved in a crash on the city's west side.

The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Livernois Avenue and Curtis Street, between McNichols and 7 Mile roads.

Police say the officers were responding to a call with their lights and sirens activated when the patrol car approached the intersection and the woman's vehicle moved into their path. The patrol car struck the vehicle, which rolled over multiple times and struck a pole before coming to a rest.

The woman, who had to be cut out of her vehicle, and both officers were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the crash remains under investigation.
