2 Men Sought In West Side Detroit Gas Station Shooting

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are asking for the public's help in identifying two persons of interest in connection with the shooting of a gas station clerk on the city's northwest side.

The shooting happened around 4:40 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 22 in the 18300 block of W. Eight Mile Road, near the Southfield Freeway.

According to police, the two men entered the businesses and the first person of interest began talking with the 22-year-old clerk, who was being a counter partition. Shortly after, police say the clerk retrieved a gun, opened the door and came from behind the partition.

The first person of interest then produced a gun, according to police, and fired a shot, striking the clerk. He then fled the location with the second person of interest, heading southbound.

The clerk was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The first person of interest is described as a black male medium complexion and 5'10" tall. He was wearing a blue hoodie and pants.

The second person of interest is described as a black male dark complexion and 5'8" tall.He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
