2 Men In Custody In Connection To Suspected Murder Of Missing River Rouge Man

TAYLOR (WWJ) -- Two men are in custody in connection with the suspected murder of a River Rouge man who had been missing for more than a week.

Michael Lee Stratford, 38, of River Rouge had been missing since May 7, according to his family. His motorcycle was last seen at a home on Brian Street in Taylor.

On Saturday, a 41-year-old Taylor man turned himself into Taylor police. Police discovered that Stratford had been shot inside the Brian Street house and that his body was dumped in Ypsilanti, where it was found in a field.

It is believed the body is that of Stratford's, but Taylor police are awaiting positive identification.

A 36-year-old Taylor man, the initial suspect's brother, was arrested Sunday in Detroit by Taylor police on suspicion of shooting Stafford.

An investigation is ongoing.
