2 Kids Hospitalized, Father Dead After Crash Downriver

BROWNSTOWN TWP. (WWJ) - Two children are recovering at Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor following an accident Downriver that left their 50-year-old father dead.

The accident happened around just after 6 p.m. Tuesday on Pennsylvania Road between Inkster and Beech Daly roads in Brownstown Township.

Police say a minivan collided with a pickup truck that was hauling concrete on a trailer. Other circumstances weren't immediately clear.

Larry Hirsch was declared dead at the scene. Two girls, ages 2-years and 4-months, were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the truck was uninjured.

The accident remains under investigation.
