2 Detroit Officers Injured As Suspect Tries To Flee In Truck

DETROIT (AP) — Police say two Detroit officers were injured after a person in a stolen pickup tried to escape an arrest.

Officer Dan Donakowski tells The Detroit News that police spotted the truck on the city's north side on Monday night and moved to surround the driver with one car in front and another behind. Donakowski says the male inside rammed both police vehicles.

Officers took the driver into custody. Donakowski says one of the officers had neck pain and the other had finger lacerations. The suspect is expected to face charges in his effort to escape arrest as well as related to narcotics found in the stolen truck.
