2 Dead In Pedestrian Accident In Canton; Police Searching For Driver Of Dodge Minivan

CANTON (WWJ) - Police are searching for one of three drivers involved in a fatal hit and run in Canton Sunday.

Two out of three drivers who police say slammed into two pedestrians on Michigan Avenue, killing them, stopped to give their statements to investigators-- but one driver did not.

Canton police tell Newsradio 950 that a well-dressed 30-something man driving what looked to be a 2013-2016  dark blue or black Dodge Caravan or similar type van briefly stopped, and then took off, after slamming into a 54-year-old Westland man Sunday evening, leaving him for dead on the street.

Another man, a 45-year-old from Inkster, was also killed.

Police say the minivan should have significant damage on the front end.

If you have any information about this incident or the driver of the Dodge Caravan you are asked to contact Canton Township police at 734-394-5400.
