2 Dead In Early Morning Crash On US-127 Near Lansing

LANSING (AP) — Authorities say two people have died an early-morning crash on a mid-Michigan highway.

Lansing police say the unidentified people died Saturday on U.S. 127. Investigators say they received reports of a vehicle driving the wrong way on the highway and then that vehicle and three others involved in a crash.

Sgt. Traci Ruiz says the two people who died were drivers, including the one traveling north in the highway's southbound lanes.

An investigation into the cause continues, but Ruiz says that the vehicle going the wrong way likely led to the initial impact.

Numerous spinouts and crashes across the state have been reported late Friday and early Saturday because of snowy, icy conditions.
