18-Year-Old Farmington Hills Woman Killed In Shooting At Redford Bowling Alley

REDFORD TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Police are investigating after a young woman was shot and killed at a Redford Township bowling alley over the weekend.

Redford Township police said the whole thing began with two groups of people arguing late Saturday night at Mayflower Lanes on Plymouth Road. The situation escalated, police said, when one person from each group pulled a handgun.

They exchanged gunfire and three people were struck.

An 18-year-old Farmington Hills woman — who police said had been involved in the initial verbal argument— was rushed to a local hospital where she died of her injuries.

Police said the two armed men, ages 19 and 33, were taken by EMS a local hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds.

Following the shooting, officers responding to the scene were flagged down by three girls on foot. They said they had just been robbed while running from the bowling alley.

As it turns out, police said, a 24-year old Farmington Hills man arrested in connection with the robbery had been involved in the fight inside the bowling alley.

Investigations into both the shooting and the robbery are ongoing. No names have been released.

Anyone who witnessed these incidents or who hay anything information is asked to call Redford Township police at 313-387-2551 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Tips may also be submitted online at this link, or by texting CSM and the tip to CRIMES (2746370).
