10-Vehicle Crash Snarls Traffic On I-275; No Injuries Reported

LIVONIA (WWJ) - Michigan State Police say despite 10 vehicles being involved in a massive accident on I-275, no one was injured.

The accident happened just before 7 a.m. Wednesday on southbound I-275 near 6 Mile Road in Livonia.

Circumstances surrounding the accident weren't immediately clear, but police say 10 vehicles were involved.

The accident left only one lane open to passing traffic, which was backed up to at least 8 Mile Road. Police made some progress moving the disabled vehicles and around 8:30 a.m., all lanes were cleared but the right shoulder remained blocked.

Police say the accident remains under investigation.

The incident was one of two holding up traffic on Livonia freeways Wednesday morning. On neighboring I-96, a garbage hauler rolled over after being involved in a collision with another vehicle, spilling trash and debris across the freeway.
