1 Killed In Fiery Crash With Suspected Drunk Driver On 8 Mile Road

WARREN (WWJ) - Authorities say a motorist was killed when their car burst into flames after being rear-ended by a suspected drunk driver in Warren.

The accident happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday on westbound 8 Mile Road just before Ryan Road.

The two-car collision caused the one of the vehicles to burst into flames. The driver of that car, who has not yet been identified, was dead at the scene.

The other driver, who is suspected of being under the influence, was taken to the hospital with injuries. Their current condition is unknown.

Other circumstances surrounding the crash weren't immediately clear.

An investigation is ongoing.

Eight Mile Road was closed for nearly five hours as police investigated the crash scene, but has since reopened.
