1 Dead, Another Injured After Suspects Pull Out Assault Rifle And Start Shooting

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for two men after a deadly double shooting on the city's northwest side.

The incident happened around 1:15 a.m. Friday on Edinborough Road and Vassar Drive, in a neighborhood near Evergreen and 7 Mile roads.

According to police, a 24-year-old Redford woman and 27-year-old Detroit man were outside of their vehicles, drinking together, when two black males approached.

What happened next isn't exactly clear, but police say one of the suspects pulled out an assault rifle and fired several shots.

The woman was fatally shot, while the man was rushed to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. His current condition is unknown.

Police are still searching for the suspects, but were not able to provide a detailed description.
