1 Dead, 1 Arrested In Dearborn Heights Crash

DEARBORN HEIGHTS (WWJ) - One person is dead and another is under arrest after a traffic crash in Dearborn Heights.

The accident happened at around 11 a.m. Friday, according to Dearborn Heights Police, at the intersection of Van Born Rd. and Beech Daly.

A driver traveling westbound along Van Born allegedly ran through a red light, police say, and crashed into another car traveling southbound on Van Born.

Police have arrested the driver accused of running the light and are asking for toxicology tests to determine if alcohol or drugs may have been a factor.

The intersection was closed for about three hours for an investigation, but has since reopened.

No names were immediately released.
