YMCA Camp In Granby Closes After Campers Get Sick

GRANBY, Colo. (CBS4) - A summer camp in Granby closed after dozens of campers got sick.

A total of 27 campers and 15 staffers at YMCA of the Rockies' Camp Chief Ouray got some sort of stomach virus over the weekend.

Colorado Health officials advised them to shut down the camp last Friday.

"We thought that it could have just been a bug that cycled through. But because it kept coming up time and time again that's why we decided to pull the plug on Session 3 so that it didn't just continue throughout the summer," camp spokesman Matt Sullivan said.

The health department is investigating what exactly got everyone sick.

Test results so far have been negative for norovirus.
