Xcel Energy Electricity Bills On The Rise

DENVER (CBS4) - Electricity bills will soon be a little bit higher.

Colorado's Public Utilities Commission on Tuesday approved a rate increase for Xcel Energy customers. The rate increase applies for the next three years.

For the average customer it means an increase of about 96 cents a month in 2015, 72 cents in 2016, and 11 cents in 2017.

The extra revenue will pay for clean air improvements.
