Women Armed With Tools Build 2 Homes In 5 Days

DENVER (CBS4)- More than 150 women have picked up tools to help build two homes in five days to help families in need. It's all a part of Habitat for Humanity's "Blitz Build."

Volunteers literally raised the roof on Friday and put of the walls for the homes in Denver's Valverde neighborhood.

Habitat has been organizing the women-fueled builds for more than two decades.

"We've got a team of Broncos cheerleaders, we've got a team of women from Wells Fargo as well as other individual women who just wanted to get involved and give back to the community for this unique women event," said Habitat for Humanity Metro Denver spokeswoman Robyn Burns.

The homes should be completed by November before the holiday season.
