Woman Who Stole, Crashed Sheriff's SUV While Drunk & High Learns Sentence

GEORGETOWN, Colo. (CBS4) - A woman responsible for a high-speed chase after stealing a Clear Creek County Sheriff's SUV has been sentenced three years after the incident occurred.

Shelby Figueroa, 21, was sentenced to four years community corrections on Monday. She was also ordered to pay more than $30,000 in restitution for damage.

Police say Figueroa was drunk and high when they pulled her over for driving too slow on Interstate 70 near Georgetown in the fall of 2012. Police say Figueroa slipped out of her handcuffs cuffs, stole a jail transport SUV, and led officers on a chase before crashing near Frisco.
