Woman Who Rammed Police Cruisers May Have Been High On Heroin
ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) - Police believe a woman who rammed a police cruiser then led them on a chase through Arvada was on heroin.
The incident began at East 100th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. Thornton police were called there on a report of a suspicious vehicle.
Investigators say when they approached the car Muriah Russell, 24 of Loveland, tried to back up and go over a curb to get away. She backed into the police car, couldn't get over the curb, and then rammed it again and sped away.
Two officers were outside their vehicles at the time but neither of them were hurt.
Police eventually stopped that car at 80th Avenue and Sheridan in Arvada, after a pursuit that stretched across a 20 mile route. Officers were able to perform a pit maneuver to end the chase.
Russell faces a number of charges including assault on a police officer and motor vehicle theft.
