BROOMFIELD, Colo. (CBS4) – Police in Broomfield are investigating after a woman was allegedly shot in the ear with a BB or pellet gun on Saturday.

According to Heidi Walts with Broomfield police, officers responded to a call just after 2:30 p.m. in which the 44-year-old woman was shot.

"The female was a passenger in a vehicle traveling eastbound on East Midway Boulevard approaching Zuni when she heard a popping noise and felt pain to her ear," Walts said in a statement.

Police are looking for a late 1990s or early 2000s white Cadillac with dark tinted windows.

"When the driver of the victim vehicle attempted to contact the white Cadillac it fled from the scene," Walts said.

The female victim, whose name hasn't been released, was treated and released on scene with minor injuries.
