Woman Reported Kidnapped Found In Thornton, Arrested

THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4) - A woman reportedly kidnapped in Adams County by an armed sex offender has been found safe.

Deputies say they found Stephany Bauderer Sunday in Thornton, however they say she is in custody for unrelated warrants.

Timothy James Montoya, the man believed to be responsible for the kidnapping, is still on the run. They say he forced Bauderer into a 1995 gold Ford Explorer on Friday in the 1000 block of West Erie Street.

The sheriff's office said Montoya is likely armed. His criminal record includes convictions for drugs, theft, trespassing and assault. He is a registered sex offender.

Anyone with information on Montoya's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Adams County Sheriff's Department.
