Woman Killed In Springs Motel Fire Died Of Smoke Inhalation

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Autopsy results confirm a woman died from smoke inhalation in a fire at a motel that also claimed the lives of two children.

Brandy Jones, 33, and her three children got trapped inside a room at the Ranch Motel on May 30. Investigators say the batteries inside the room's smoke alarm had been taken out.

Two of Jones' young children also died from smoke inhalation.

The only survivor -- her 10-year-old son -- is in stable condition.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
