Woman Dies Tubing The South Platte In Douglas County

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A woman died while tubing the South Platte River in Douglas County on Saturday. It happened in an area known as "the chutes," at about 2:30 p.m. in the foothills.

A man was also thrown in, but nearby kayakers were able to rescue him. The man has minor injuries.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said neither of the two were wearing safety gear.

Earlier that same day, crews recovered a body from the South Platte River in Denver. Rescue crews say it is a busy year for them.
