Woman Charged With Vehicular Assault, Marijuana Use Investigated

DENVER (CBS4)- A woman has been formally charged in connection with a vehicular assault that left six people injured.

Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has formally charged Emily Strock with two counts of vehicular assault, third degree assault, driving under the influence of drugs and one count of no proof of insurance.

The charges allege that Strock was driving at a high rate of speed eastbound on Colfax Avenue and Speer Boulevard about 2:30 a.m. on July 21 when she went through a red light and collided with another vehicle traveling southbound on Speer Boulevard.

The charges further allege that Strock was under the influence of marijuana at the time.

Strock has been released from custody on a $50,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on Aug. 5 at 1:30 p.m. to be formally advised.
