Woman Charged With Attacking Gay Couple

DENVER (CBS4)- A woman has been arrested and charged with bias-motivated crime after she allegedly attacked a gay couple.

Jhane Toney, 21, is free on $5,000 bond after the attack. She has been charged with two counts of bias-motivated crime.

Around 1:30 a.m. on June 12 the victim and her partner were walking near West 10th Avenue and Broadway Street in Denver when they entered a parking lot. Toney allegedly assaulted them because of their sexual orientation.

Toney is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on Aug. 17 at 1:30 p.m. for her second advisement on the charges.
