Wintry Weather Forces Veterans Ceremony Indoors

DENVER (AP) — A Denver-area Veterans Day observance has been moved indoors because of wintry weather.

The ceremony will take place Wednesday at VFW Post 9644 in Englewood. It had been planned for Fort Logan National Cemetery nearby, but a storm was expected to bring snow and wind.

The keynote speaker will be Air Force Maj. Gen. Michael Loh of the North American Aerospace Defense Command at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs.

Col. John W. Wagner of the 460th Space Wing at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora will also speak.

Fighter jets from the Colorado Air National Guard are scheduled to fly over at the cemetery, but officials say that could change if the weather is bad.

National Guard flyovers are also planned in Pueblo, Lakewood and Loveland.
