Wind Blows Large Tree Onto Home, Causing Heavy Damage

LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4) - A large cottonwood tree crashed down onto the home of a Loveland family overnight.

A strong wind gust knocked the tree over at approximately 4 a.m. Luckily, no one was seriously hurt.

The home belongs to Travis and Corinna Befus and their 10-week-old daughter Emerly. It's located at 4049 Crawford Court, which is on the city's west side.

Travis, Corinna and Emerly were in bed at the time and so was Corinna's father Roy Wooderson, who was visiting from Alaska.

The Befuses are now displaced from the home, which they only recently moved into. The American Red Cross is helping them with temporary housing.

Wooderson told CBS4 his daughter's back is hurting after the incident.

Strong westerly downsloping winds have been blowing across Colorado's Front Range on Tuesday, with some gusts registering above 50 mph.
