Wildlife Officers Prepare To Use GPS Collars To Track Moose

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers launched a new program to track moose in Steamboat Springs.

Last winter, a moose and her calf had to be relocated after they made a home at the Steamboat Ski Area.

Wildlife officers are now putting GPS collars around moose to track where they go.

The hope is to better understand the animals' behavior so officers can minimize conflicts between the moose and humans.
