'Wild Speculation': Gingrich Reacts To Trump V.P. Short List

ASPEN, Colo. (CBS4)- Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said supporters shouldn't bet on him becoming presumptive Republican presidential nominee's pick for vice president.

Gingrich was in Aspen on Friday to speak at the Aspen Ideas Festival.

Sources claim Gingrich and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are on Donald Trump's short list of possible running mates.

"It's wild speculation. I suspect if it did come to anything, we'd have to have a very long talk and then, depending on that talk, Chris and I would have to sit down with Donald and have another long talk," said Gingrich.

Gingrich also said he would only take the offer if he could do meaningful work in Trump's administration.
