Wheelchair Stolen From Boy With Cerebral Palsy

PUEBLO, Colo. (CBS4) - A Pueblo boy with cerebral palsy will be without a wheelchair for several weeks after someone stole his custom wheelchair from the vehicle it was in.

The wheelchair was in the back of the family car when Jessica Lucas, the boy's mother, dropped the car off for repairs at an auto shop.

When she got the car back she realized the wheelchair, which is worth $5,000, was gone.

"It was just utter shock like who would steal a child's wheelchair," said Lucas. "What they did to my son is not fair. And he already faces so much in life. He didn't deserve this."

The auto body shop is helping to pay for a replacement, but it will take at least six weeks. Until then, that little boy is stuck at home.
