What You Need To Know About DU's Orange-Lemon Game

DENVER (CBS4)- It's a University of Denver hockey practice tradition: the orange-lemon game.

Rules are simple, every player takes a shoot-out attempt and those who score go in the orange line, those who miss go in the lemon line. In the orange line, the winner is whoever keeps scoring the longest; in the lemon line, the loser is the player who fails to score, and he must eat the lemon.

This week, the Pioneers invited some media members along with reality TV "super star" J.J. Lane (Bachelorette Season 11), who admitted he had nothing better to do on a Thursday afternoon.

Lane is a DU alum who played hockey, while CBS4's Mark Haas has trouble stopping while on skates.

Pioneers coach Jim Montgomery compared Haas to Jim Carey from the movie 'The Cable Guy.'

Needless to say, the event did not go well for Haas, as you will see in the video (including a failed fight with the reality TV personality).

Mark Haas is CBS4's weekend sports anchor and sports reporter. Read his bio or follow him on Twitter @markhaastv or on Facebook.
