Westbound U.S. 36 Off-Ramp To McCaslin Closed This Weekend

LOUISVILLE, Colo. (CBS4)- Some drivers may experience a detour as construction continues on the U.S. 36 Express Lanes Project.

The Colorado Department of Transportation will close the westbound U.S. 36 off-ramp to McCaslin Boulevard starting at 9 p.m. Saturday through 5:30 a.m. on Monday.

The detour will take drivers westbound on U.S. 36 to Table Mesa and back. RTD schedules may be delayed because of the closure and detour.

The closure is necessary for the construction and paving of the new westbound U.S. 36 off-ramp to McCaslin Boulevard. The McCaslin Bridge is being completed in phases to replace the current bridge with a Diverging Diamond Interchange, DDI. The DDI crosses traffic to the opposite side of the road across an interchange so vehicles have unimpeded movement onto the freeway ramps. The McCaslin Boulevard DDI is scheduled to open in late 2015.

For additional information on the RTD schedule and routing information during the closure, contact 303-299-6000 or visit rtd-denver.com. To learn more about the project visit www.us36expresslanes.com.
