1st Human Case Of West Nile This Year In Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4)- The first human case of West Nile Virus in Colorado this year is in Fort Collins. The case was confirmed after a blood donor tested positive for the virus.

Health officials say although the West Nile Virus was found in that person's blood, the person did not develop the disease.

The mosquito-transmitted virus typically peaks in Colorado in August through September.
