West Metro Fire Crews Officially Welcome Engine 2 Into the Fleet
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- West Metro Fire Rescue officially welcomed the newest tool into their fleet of firefighting vehicles. Engine 2 was officially christened this week.
As part of the ceremony, a bucket of water from the old Engine 2 was carried, bucket-brigade style, to the new engine and poured into the tank. Then some junior firefighters gave the rig a good washing.
A new firetruck will spend the next 15 to 20 years on the frontlines before transitioning to reserve status.
