Weekend Closures Affecting 6th Avenue & Federal Boulevard
DENVER (CBS4)- All lanes of southbound Federal Boulevard will be closed for the weekend so crews can move the southbound lanes into their final alignment over 6th Avenue. As a result, both ramps from 6th Ave. to Federal Blvd. will also be closed.
The closures go into place 10 p.m. Friday and will remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday.
The Colorado Department of Transportation tells us that when Federal reopens Monday morning, there will only be two through lanes in each direction over 6th Ave, but there will be full left turn lanes in each direction.
The work at Federal is expected to be complete in September. The entire $98 million U.S. 6 Bridges Design-Build Project is scheduled to be completed in October.
