Weather Service Issues Flood Warnings For Northern & Central Colorado

(AP) - The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings or advisories Saturday for much of northern and parts of central Colorado.

The weather service came out with warnings and advisories for more than a dozen counties because of expected heavy rains and snowmelt.

Forecasters say a small-stream and river-flood advisory is in effect until 9:15 a.m. Monday for Jackson and Grand counties "because of the much warmer weather and accelerated snowmelt over the last few days."

The Larimer County Sheriff's Office tells residents in tweets that the weather service has issued a small-steam flood advisory for parts of the county, including the Buckhorn Mountain area.

The department says minor flooding was reported at eight to 10 houses on McConnell and Green Ridge drives in Laporte.
