Waterton Canyon Reopens After Being Closed Since August Because Of Bears

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Waterton Canyon will reopen Friday after being closed to recreation since August.

Denver Water closed the canyon because of heavy bear activity. In one case a bear chased a person on a bike. Neighbors also spotted bears in the area.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is still warning people to be mindful of bears while visiting the canyon.
