Water Floods Into Street From Hit Fire Hydrant

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - A fire hydrant in Aurora that was hit by a car Wednesday morning sent water pouring into the street.

It happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. at South Buckley Road and East Iliff Avenue.

Water was shut off by 6:56 a.m.

It is unclear what happened to the vehicle that struck the hydrant.

Copter4 flew over the scene where water was pouring from the hydrant and flooding the street. Cars slowed down near the intersection to avoid splashing through the flowing water.

Crews arrived once the water was shut off to make repairs to the hydrant.
