Wanted Felon Arrested After Chase, But Driver At Large

HUDSON, Colo. (CBS4) - Police are looking for a suspect in a high-speed chase that happened in Brighton on Friday afternoon.

The chase started at Longs Peak Street and 19th Avenue after officers tried to execute a traffic stop on a car that a wanted fugitive was apparently inside. The driver of the car then took off.

The chase went east from there on County Road 3 and up Interstate 76 to County Road 52 in Hudson. After heading a short ways on 52 the car crashed into a ditch.

Officers said the passenger in the car -- who they say was the wanted felon -- was arrested. The driver, however, then stole a 2005 GMC 1500 white pickup truck from a nearby home. The pickup had the license plate 326-MKJ.

The driver remained at large late Friday night. He was identified as Cesar Irreza, 24.
