Stapleton far outraised Markey. He reminded voters that under his stewardship, Colorado's $9 billion investment portfolio beat national averages each year.

Markey said she would do a better job promoting transparency.

The two clashed on Colorado's pension system for retired teachers and state workers. Stapleton argued the system needs a big overhaul. Markey said changes made in recent years shored up the system's finances.
