Volunteers Find 1 Of 3 Missing Pets Belonging To Woman In Deadly Car Crash

CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Nearly five weeks after a deadly car crash along Interstate 70, one of the pets of the victim has been found.

Kayce Chik, 25, died in a rollover crash in August on I-70 near Loveland ski area. Her two cats and dog were in the car at the time of the crash. They survived but ran off into the woods.

Volunteers have been searching for the animals ever since and one of the cats was found Tuesday night.

A report of a sighting came in Sunday morning so a trap was set and the cat captured around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

A Facebook group dedicated to finding the pets posted a photo of Rado going home.

Chik's family said her pets were her life, and volunteers have spent weeks looking for the three animals. The group celebrated the finding of Rado and is reinvigorated in their search for Chulo and Rida.
