Volunteers Celebrate Good Friday With Feet Washing

DENVER (CBS4)- Volunteers celebrated Good Friday with worship, a holiday meal and foot washing for the homeless.

Denver Rescue Mission and Volunteers of America partnered to feed hundreds of homeless men, women and children on Friday. They were treated to a meal of ham with pineapple glaze, sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, green beans, corn and bean salad, fruit, assorted desserts, lemonade and iced tea.

The Annual Easter Celebration at the Lawrence Street Shelter included all the traditional activities for Easter, including a few extras.

In addition to the foot washing, each person received a brand new pair of socks and shoes.

About 60 volunteers gave their time on Friday
