Vigil To Be Held For Planned Parenthood Shooting Victims

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Faith leaders are joining members of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England in a candlelight vigil in Maine for the victims and the community of Colorado Springs, Colorado, following a fatal shooting at a clinic there.

Three people died and nine others were injured in the shooting Friday.

The vigil has been scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Monument Square in Portland.

Marvin Ellison, a Presbyterian minister and volunteer chaplain at Planned Parenthood, says the group stands with the organization and its continued commitment to provide care in safe, supportive environment that millions of people rely on and trust for quality health care.
